Francis arrived in America with his brother from Milford County, Surrey,
England in 1639. He settled in Fairfield, Long Island and Stratford, Conn. where he
purchased land. He was an attorney-at-law and continued practicing almost
up until his death. Francis took the oath of fidelity 1 Jul 1644. He held
the office of Constable in Stratford in 1666, and deputy to the general court
in Hardford in May 11, 1676. Francis served in the Indian war. His will is dated
3 Oct 1690.
