Estate Notes:The 17 Nov 1934 Poughkeepsie paper reported that his estate was valued at: $14,812.23 and was distributed to: nephew George R Whaley (Millbrook), brother Arthur, and sisters: Mary McDonald and Annie B Silvernail.

Immigration Notes: Listed on Christine's Wurttemberg Passport and German Baptism Registry under the name of Christoff Karl. Charles' birth dates match both sources.

Died: 5 Oct 1945 in McGann nursing home where he was there for 2 weeks after suffering from a long illness in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County
For 50 years, he was a section foreman on the New York, New Haven, and Hartford railroad. The services took place at Roberts Funeral Home by Rev Ralph G English. He was buried at Stanford Cemetery at Stanfordville, NY. according to 11 Oct 1945 Poughkeepsie newspaper.

Funeral Services were held from the Catholic church at Beacon on Monday, Dec 24. Burial was in Beacon.
Notes: Died in his home in Beacon, NY after a long illness. "He was an engineer on the New York, New Haven and Hartford railroad for many years and had residence in Beacon approximately 30 years. The early part of his life was spent in Stanford." He also lived at 13 W Church St in Beacon.
27 Sept 1934 Poughkeepsie paper stated that Winfield received a scalp injury when struck by a car and was treated, stayed over night and discharged from Vassar hospital.

Died: 10 Nov 1965 in Poughkeepsie after a long illness. He had broken his hip in October. He was a retired gateman for the New Haven railroad. Information is from the 18 Nov 1965 Poughkeepsie paper.
